Are you tying the knot and trying to find your dream hairstyle? You’ve come to the right place! At Lavishly Lux Studio, we love when a bride embraces her natural beauty, her natural self, and her natural hair. With a little help from our friend, Sess Cannon of Flourish Salon, a stylist that empowers and educates her clients about healthy hair practices, we’ve compiled a list of the five most beautiful natural bridal hairstyles:

Edgy Braids or Twists

Braids have been trending in the bridal hairstyle world for quite some time and we don’t see them going anywhere anytime soon. Hairstylist Sess Cannon, is an expert at bridal braids and twos strand twist styles. Braids are especially well suited to brides after a more boho-inspired hairstyle. Plus, with natural hair, there are so many types of braids and twists available. Braids can be done horizontally, diagonally, across the crown, or even in the back- whichever fits your personality and your vision for your big day.

Chic Topknot

Just because you associate top knots with lazy Sunday mornings doesn’t mean they don’t work as a bridal hairstyle. In fact, Sess Cannon is incredible at creating chic and sophisticated top knots for brides. Show off your gorgeous face and cheekbones by gathering your natural locks into a sleek knot right on top of your head. We guarantee you’ll be glad you went with this hairstyle when you’re tearing up the dance floor or the wind is blowing at your outdoor wedding- you won’t have to brush your hair out of your face.

Coiffed Curls

Move over loose waves, there’s a new hairstyle in town. Coiffed curls is a particular favorite of Sess Cannon because spiral curls are the very definition of romance. Not only is she a coiffed curl finatic, she as is an expert with bridal hair accessories- from fresh flowers to delicate beaded headpieces, into the natural tendrils- she knows how to keep the romance alive and showcase brides’ inner and outer beauty.

Free Flowing

You can never go wrong with letting your kinks, coils or curls fly. Whether you’re tying the knot on a beach or in a church, you will be sure to turn heads with this effortless and sexy hairstyle. Since your strands will be the star of the show, Sess Cannon recommends keeping your locks fully moisturized leading up to the big day. Hot oil and regular deep conditioning treatments work wonders on dry hair. Some of Sess’s faves are Mizani 25 benefits line and her own Flourish Nourishing Cream– check them out!.

Modern Pixie

For something modern with just a bit of edge, we recommend a modern pixie look. Bridal fashion designer, Carly Cushnie, rocked one of our favorite versions of this hairstyle to her own wedding back in 2017. For her Mexico City nuptials, she donned a pixie cut with a contemporary spin. The curls on each side of her face were trimmed back, with longer curls left on top- stunning. Despite the overall shorter length, this hairstyle made a serious statement thanks to the fullness and height the curls on top provided. Like the top knot, this is an especially great style if you’re getting married on a hot summer day.

Whether or not you have found your perfect hairstyle for your perfect day, these tips can take your vision and make it a reality. Don’t forget, your natural beauty is beautiful- embrace it on your wedding day.
