Over the last several years, rooftop weddings have exploded with popularity. I mean what’s not to like? You and your partner will already feel as though you are on cloud 9, why not actually celebrate as close the clouds as you can get? Rooftop weddings are some of our favorites, mostly because they add such a special touch for your guests. Although every rooftop wedding we’ve been apart of has been a huge success, we have heard time and time again from brides how hard it was to compare and contrast venues. We decided to alleviate this issue with a list of our favorites. Weddings are as individual as the couples getting married and no matter what venue you choose, we would love to photograph your special day. Contact us for details.
The Joule
If you are looking for a renovated space that embodies old world charm with upscale modernism. The building is centered in the business district and dates back to the 1920’s. Its Neo-Gothic iconic exterior and award-winning interior make it a great option for any event. It’s a fantastic location that puts you right in the action of downtown, while still giving elegance and privacy to your wedding. The Joule hosts a variety of event options and space, however in our opinion, the best is the rooftop terrace. Available for ceremonies and receptions alike to suite a variety of budgets and head counts, check out their extensive website here.
Venue at 400 N Ervay
The Venue at 400 North Ervay is a great modern option to enjoy the outdoors while being surrounded by the Dallas skyline. This venue also offers two indoor options in case you and your partner would like the best of both worlds. Offering several spaces and options while fostering couple’s wishes, the Venue at 400 North Ervay is a dream option for the modern wedding. Contact them here.
2616 Commerce Street
Can you imagine hosting an entire wedding (ceremony and reception) from the same breathtaking location. Featured in the Knot, 100 Layer Cake and winner of the Wedding Wire Couples’ Choice Award 2018, 2616 offers a skyline terrace and two indoor locations so you and your partner can create the wedding of your dreams. You can rent single or multiple spaces with accommodation for up to 1,000 guests – no one gets left behind on this rooftop shindig! Be sure to schedule a tour or take a look at their pricing page.
Rooftop Event Spot
Offering panoramic views, indoor and outdoor space and exclusive vendors, Rooftop Event Spot is a great option for any style event. Located on the top of the ORIGINAL Plano Ice House, the space oozes with true Texan character, we feel this is a must on our list. Check them out!
Wyly Theatre
Offering 2 terrace spaces (in addition to many other indoor options), the Wyly Theater at the AT&T Performing Arts Center has a penthouse terrace as well as one on the 9th floor. Equally stunning, this venue is our favorite for its unique views and layouts. Set up a tour to see for yourself and let it take your breath away before it takes away your guests.
Sundown at Grenada
A farm-to-table neighbor to the infamous Granada Theater, this venue features two rooftop options in case you and your partner are looking to incorporate some views instead of the theater (which can also be rented) into your nuptials. Sundown is also a great option because they take the guesswork out of food too. Home to 60 craft beers, a private garden and locally sourced produce & free range meats (oh, vegetarian and vegan options always possible too), you can be confident all of your guests are accounted for. To get a taste for yourself, swing by, say hello and grab a bite (they are a restaurant by day you know)!
Dec on Dragon Street
Think of it as a modern, Dallas lounge if you will. We can’t stop drooling over the Dec on Dragon Street. This venue is sure to be a showstopper to your wedding (well next to the bride of course) and is sure to make you and your partner’s wedding unforgettable. Featuring a multi-level, indoor-outdoor space complete with modern decor and winding staircases, it sure does speak for itself. To see what we are talking about, take a virtual tour or schedule an appointment to see it for yourself.
Fairmont Dallas
The Fairmont Dallas is an iconic location just a few leaps from JFK’s Sixth Floor Museum and the Pavilion Room is a premiere, yet intimate spot for a reception. Boasting floor to ceiling windows and doors to terrace, the room itself may take you back to old European charm. Guests can awe at the view, snack on the veggies growing in the deck garden all while celebrating you and your partner. To see what we are talking about, check out their website here.
5th & Caroll events
If you are looking for the Fort Worth skyline in a modern loft, 5th & Carroll is for you. It’s views, juliet balconies and indoor-outdoor space make the space truly one of a kind. Their very comprehensive website shows the variety of the venue by giving potential clients several floorplan options, a great gallery and the food and beverage accommodations. Virtual information aside, there is nothing quite like the real thing.
The Room on Main
The Room on Main is a multipurpose spot for your nuptials. Located in the Dallas Arts Center it provides an added flair to your day. Being restored, the vintage charm of the venue has remained intact, therefore it comes to life during your event. Whether you’re going for the traditional vintage theme or a modernized version, the Room on Main is sure to impress. Offering a variety of services and information, we believe the Room on Main is a place that won’t disappoint.
Hickory Street Annex
For the industrial loft feel, we recommend you take a look at Hickory Street Annex. With exposed brick walls, steel tresses and a downtown view, it’s sure to impress. Tables and chairs taken care of, Hickory Street Annex is pleased to show you the variety of options they have for your dream wedding. Tours are by appointment only, contact them here.
Renaissance Hotel Dallas
The Renaissance offers TWO spots perfect for a skyline wedding. The first is a City View option that adds modern elegance with Texan flair. With an entrance separate from the hotel, it’s a great way to have hotel amenities with privacy. The second space comes with a retractable view taking the weather guesswork out of the equation for couples ready to brave the rain. Even if you don’t end up needing it, what a great way to increase the view, huh? This is a new addition to the hotel and is apart of their meeting space, nonetheless the Renaissance is a great closer to this list for its versatility and Dallas views.
