For me, one of the hardest things is writing emails that provoke a response. Over my years in business, I tried a few things that have worked. Below are a few of my email templates that work for my business. Keep in mind, your email voice should match your branding. Feel free to use and edit as needed.

1.  This one is a response to a direct inquiry. My goal for this one is to sound as natural as possible, and not like a auto response. I ask a few questions to start a conversation about their needs. I also will not send our pricing on the first email. 
Hey x,
Congrats on your engagement! I’m so happy for you.

 Allow me a moment to see if we are available for your wedding on x. Once our availability is confirmed, I’ll send you a detailed proposal for you to review. Is that ok? How did you hear about us?

A little about us, we are a small group of specialized wedding photographers and we are passionate about love and our work. Think of our style as artistic photojournalism infused with beauty, romance and grace.

2. Here is an alternative to the initial email. This one comes from my admin, and also ask questions to spark a conversation.
Hey x, Congrats on your engagement! I’m so excited for you both. Let me double check the team’s availability for your wedding on x (Do we have that date correct?) We’ll then send over a detailed proposal and we can talk more then.

While you’re waiting, can I ask how you heard about us?

3.  Send the proposal. To expedite a response, add an expiration date and create a sense of urgency.
