If you’ve been to Round Rock, Texas, located just a few miles north of Austin, then you’ve probably heard of Woodbine Mansion. Widely regarded as the most beautiful estate in the area, Woodbine Mansion, formerly the home of the wealthy Nelson family, was recently turned into a gorgeous event venue, allowing brides and grooms from Austin and beyond to enjoy its grandeur. Below, I share a few of my favorite things about one of the top Austin wedding venues, Woodbine Mansion.

Long History

I’m a sucker for historical properties and the Woodbine Mansion is just that. Dating back to 1895, and built by the Nelson family who had recently moved to Round Rock from Sweden, the Neoclassical architecture of the mansion is nothing short of mesmerizing. Though its owners have changed throughout the years, many of the estate’s 19th century furnishings and architecture have been preserved. Woodbine Mansion even became a Texas Historic Landmark in 1973. Walking up to the mansion today, couples will see a gorgeous Victorian-style mansion with striking Greek Revival features, including the much-photographed columns that line the entrance to the property. If you’re a history buff or just love interesting architecture, then you can’t go wrong with this Austin wedding venue.

Lush Outdoor Space

Many Texas couples I’ve worked with have always dreamed of having an outdoor wedding. If this sounds like you, then you’re sure to love the Woodbine Mansion in Austin, Texas. Lush outdoor space abounds on this expansive estate. The property sits on 1.5 acres of land and features private gardens, two outdoor courtyards, a gazebo, and a garden trellis. Imagine getting married beneath string lights under century-old trees, or exchanging vows on the lawn surrounded by fresh flowers. This can be your reality thanks to the outdoor event spaces at Woodbine Mansion.

On-Site Facilities

Finally, I love the Woodbine Mansion in Austin because of the on-site facilities it offers. This mansion has not your typical two, but five changing rooms for the wedding parties to get ready on the big day. Plus, the wedding venue is handicap accessible, has WiFi throughout, and has private green rooms for the vendors. There is also parking on-site, and a shuttle and valet service are available for an extra fee. Additionally, hosting your wedding at Woodbine Mansion means you have access to not only the event spaces where your ceremony and reception are taking place but also to the first and second floors of the mansion (a great spot for couple’s portraits!).

Overall, tying the knot at the Woodbine Mansion in Austin will never disappoint. As a luxury wedding photographer in Texas, I can attest to the fact that this venue photographs beautifully.
