Rachel & Brian’s Magical Wedding at The Olana
June 1, 2020
Rachel and Brian, a Lavishly Lux couple that I adore, recently tied the knot at The Olana. Their day was as magical as can be, filled with love, laughter, and never ending dancing! Keep reading to discover more about this Dallas couple’s special day.
First off, I have to give a shout out to the venue they chose. The Olana is hands down one of my favorite wedding venues in Dallas. The Dallas wedding venue is actually a historic mansion built in the French baroque style. Despite it being only a short drive from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, it will make you feel as though you’ve been transported to Europe. In fact, it actually pays homage to a specific castle in Paris, Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte. Beyond the stunning architecture, The Olana also features a tea room modeled after New York’s Tavern on the Green, two pools (one indoor and one outdoor), basketball courts, a bowling alley, and private suites for the bride and groom to get ready in before the wedding. There’s also a breathtaking, hand-carved spiral staircase that was a must for me when it came time for Rachel and Brian’s couple’s portraits.
Further, when it comes to choosing which specific room you want to get married in, this Dallas wedding venue gives couples multiple choices. Rachel and Brian settled on The Olana’s 3rd floor French Room with mirrors and balconies for the ceremony and the airy Solarium for the reception. Finally, as a Dallas wedding photographer, the thing I love most about The Olana is that it has unlimited photo ops. Seriously, everywhere I looked, every corner I turned, there was another gorgeous setting to take a photo of Rachel and Brian. (It doesn’t hurt that The Olana is set on a 40 acre estate.) It is any Dallas wedding photographer’s dream.
The theme of the day was a classic black tie affair. The groomsmen looked sharp in black suits, while the bridesmaids wore black evening gowns. Even the flower girl had an adorable black dress with a gold bow. Meanwhile, the groom opted for black pants with a white tuxedo jacket to match the bride’s stunning white dress. Rachel looked absolutely flawless in her white gown that featured a sweetheart neckline, intricate beading, and spaghetti straps. Her cathedral veil was also a sight to behold, and made for some pretty incredible wedding photos. To complete the look was Rachel’s bouquet, which was a timeless combination of white roses and baby’s breath.
Meanwhile, a color palette of gold and white was perfect for the floral and decor at the reception. It was the height of elegance against the historic backdrop of The Olana. Gold chairs, gold-rimmed tableware, and white satin linens were just a few decor touches. What I couldn’t get enough of were the all-white flower arrangements. The sculpted arrangements consisted of hydrangea and roses and sat in tall gold vases. It was as luxe as can be. They even had a live saxophonist perform throughout the day!
Finally, I can’t end this post without mention of Rachel and Brian’s drool-worthy wedding cake. The four-tiered cake was majorly on-trend with geometric accents, gold leaf details, a customized gold cake topper with the couple’s names, and a wreath of fresh white flowers around the third tier.
Overall, Rachel and Brian’s wedding at The Olana was a truly magical day. We wish these two nothing but a lifetime of happiness together.
