“I’m a leader. I’m the boss, and I run the place.”

This is my mindset. I’m a creative.  Even if I experience insecurity, as all entrepreneurs do at some point. I like to think that this is my gig, and no one can take it from me.

But, that confidence I have in my business doesn’t always translate into my networking strategies.

I’m an introverted creative. Have you been there? Because I can tell you, it’s not easy. But I am proud of who I am and you should be too!

However, technology has brought us this far and Instagram has become one of the main networking tools I use. Oh how it has saved me from being socially awkward!

Going up to the people I’m interested in meeting is difficult from the get-go, however, I have a trick up my sleeve: Ask for their Instagram account and continue the conversation virtually! This way, I’m able to showcase my work as well, people have a broader, more creative look into my work when I show them what I can accomplish with my photos.

Yeah, I have a hard time walking into a crowded room, but with this strategy, I was able to reach out and highlight a few vendors on my blog, as well as meet other wonderful people. With Instagram I can start a virtual dialog with the collaborators I am interested in.

Networking through Instagram is also a big schedule saver. Not only do you not have to meet with anyone physically, but you can also network, show your work, and make appointments from your home office.

If you’re an introverted creative like me. Know that you’re not alone. Instagram is a great tool to work with and network, go for it, it’s worth it.
