4 Tips on Choosing a Wedding Photographer
February 1, 2019
Choosing a Wedding Photographer is one of the most important decisions you will make for your wedding. Personally, I would love for you to choose Lavishly Lux Studio, but every couple is unique and this decision is an important one!
So let’s dive in:
Tip #1: Ask to see Galleries
When searching for the right photographer, you need to know how each photographer’s skills work in different scenarios. Not every wedding is the same in terms of, well anything, and your photographer really needs to adapt to this. Take a moment to view as many photos as you can before you make a decision.
Tip #2: Ask about Lighting
Lighting is such a huge part of photography! Yes, there are a few natural light photographers that capture amazing photos. However, if your event will take place in a ballroom, church or generally darker venue, make sure you ask your photographer how working in this environment will be like in terms of lighting.
Tip #3: Be Clear on your Expectations
Every photographer will input their own creative perspective to capture the best moments & details. However, make sure your own expectations are expressed clearly before hiring. Have your references ready and even create a Pinterest board to give your photographer a broader idea of what you’re looking for.
Tip #4: Experience
While I’m sure your wedding will go amazingly well, I know for a fact that they can also be unpredictable (in good ways too!), so having a seasoned wedding photographer is a must. Ask for background and experience, and remember that shooting a wedding with tons of people having a good time, versus shooting in a studio is a totally different experience. Your chosen photographer should be able to showcase expertise in weddings.
Hopefully, these tips shine a light into your photographer search quest. If you’re interested in hiring me, let me know and we’ll schedule an appointment. Good luck!
